Odyssey Putters Enjoying Banner Year

Odyssey Golf tapped PutterZone.com on the shoulder today with some eye-popping statistics for 2010 (to date): “PGA Tour professionals who use an Odyssey putter make up the top eight leaders in putts per greens in regulation on tour. Odyssey also has 13 wins on the PGA Tour in 2010, more than any other putter brand.”

Notable wins for Odyssey in 2010 include the U.S. Open, where Graeme McDowell won with an Odyssey White Hot #7 putter; and the Masters, where Phil Mickelson won with his custom Odyssey putter. Last week, Stuart Appleby won the Greenbrier Classic with an Odyssey White Hot 330 putter.

For Odyssey, it has, indeed, been a very good year, and it’s still far from over. Can they notch a third major this year at Whistling Straits? Stay tuned.

    Very interesting… Nike = 0.

  2. Good stuff, thanks! How'd you do that!? Nike built up some equity with two major victories last year.

They have just about every winner's bag. The only exceptions are the tournaments that are secondary to a major/WGC tourny in the same week. I had to go hunt down those.

I forgot to mention that it was also interesting that Bettinardi had 0 wins. I know they're popular in the retail/custom market, but not so much on tour? I'm guessing he doesn't pay anyone to use his putters.

  4. Maybe Tiger should go with an Odyssey type putter–I think the softer faces allow you to make more of a swing on shorter putts or on fast greens. I think the milled faces are better for feel on longer putts or slow greens.

The soft faces seem to keep getting better and better… although they don't look as good as a cameron.

I don't know where you are, but where I am (NorCal), Bettinardi putters are hard to find.

  6. Bettinardi's show up randomly at a couple shops in my area. The retailers don't buy them new… and I'm actually thinking that Bettinardi doesn't sell to retailers anymore on purpose.
