The Golfer’s Stocking Stuffers

Posted on November 15, 2007 by PutterZone.com in Uncategorized - 2 Comments

If you’re looking to stuff the stocking of your favorite golfer—or perhaps just making your own list for Santa Claus—the coming holiday season offers an array of little treats and experiences that will raise your putting game.

Following are some of PutterZone.com’s recommended stocking stuffers for 2007:

I Love Puttle ($18)
Puttle is the definition of a stocking stuffer—tiny, fun, unusual and affordable. This simple game combines the concept of b
owling with the art of putting, employing three wooden pins and a point system that rewards accuracy, both in terms of direction and distance. Each “I Love Puttle” package includes three pins, game instructions and measuring string for precise pin placement.

SeeMore Triangulator ($10)
This nifty little item from the SeeMore Putter Company helps “train your eyes as to what correct aim looks like as you stand over a putt.” You address a level 10 or 15-foot putt as you normally would, then replace t
he ball with the triangulator, a plastic triangle that rests flush against the putter face. Then you secure the triangulator to the green with a tee, and extend the attached 15-foot string through the center of the triangle and along the green to precisely determine where you were truly aimed, as opposed to where you thought you were aimed.

Tour Tempo Player Package ($99)
John Novosel discovered and proved that the swing of most PGA Tour players transpires at a 3:1 ratio in terms of elapsed time between backswing and downswing, and he went on to write an instructional book about it called Tour
Tempo. Now, with this durable iPod-like Tour Tempo Player, you can conveniently listen to a variety 3:1 tones that will help you establish a tour-proven swing tempo on the driving range, as well as new short game and putting tones. The player comes with an instructional DVD, a CD featuring the tempo tracks, and the original Tour Tempo book.

Stan Utley’s “Learning The Curve” DVD ($49.95)
A price tag of $49.95 for a DVD might sound like a lot, but in this case it’s a deal, because leading short-game guru Stan Utley offers insights and instruction that will last a lifetime. This DVD gets your putting game on a proven track by teaching you the arcing stroke that is preferred by most PGA Tour players.

Titleist Scotty Cameron Pivot Tool ($10)
Repair your ball marks in style with this ergonomically brilliant tool created by famed putter designer Scotty Cameron. Just having this cool little device in your
pocket will motivate you to improve your short game and hit more greens.

The Game Before The Game ($22.50) by Lynn Marriott and Pia Nilsson
T
his little book will fit snugly in a stocking, but it’s also packed with practical information that will help you get the most out of your practice, both technically and mentally. The chapter on putting alone is worth the price of admission.

Custom Fitting by TaylorMade Performance Labs ($400)
Give the gift of a perfect fit with a two-hour session at one of four TaylorMade Performance Labs in San Diego, Portland, Orlando or Reynolds Plantation, Georgia. Combining cutting-edge “
motion capture” technology with hands-on service, TaylorMade Performance Labs help you get custom fit for maximum results, not just with irons, wedges and woods, but also putters and even golf balls. After your session, you can opt to purchase precisely fitted clubs directly from TaylorMade, which will be delivered within 48 hours. You may not yet play like the pros, but now you can get treated and fitted like one.
